ZombyIO

Copy your Discord bot settings to another server

BrainDrop sends the settings of one Discord server to another in two clicks: to your own server, or to anybody with a link. Channels and roles are matched by name, and nothing changes until you have seen what arrives.

Like sending a file

Tick what goes along, click the other server, check what arrives and accept.

Give a new server your old server's brain.

BrainDrop in 30 seconds

What it does in your server, shown in Discord. With captions in five languages, and every scene also written out as text.

Read the video as text

Each step describes the picture first, then quotes what the voice says.

  1. White words appear on black as they are spoken, with “Set it all up again?” in purple. Behind them, blurred rows of settings with switches drift upwards.

“New server, same setup. Set it all up again?”

  2. Purple light opens from the centre. The ZombyIO logo, a round badge with a zombie face in a headset, appears at the top. The zombie mascot springs up holding a pink brain dripping a drop, and “BrainDrop” appears.

    “Meet ZombyIO BrainDrop.”

  3. Two server icons. Night Owls, “All set up”, has four settings below it; a grey Pixel Tavern, “Brand new”, has empty slots. A pink brain flies across, and Pixel Tavern lights up: “Set up in one go”, slots filled.

“Give a new server your old server’s brain.”

  4. The BrainDrop page. Five sections get ticked, from “Welcome messages” to “Tickets”. Under “Where to”, Pixel Tavern is clicked and gets a green tick; “Make a link” shows “zomby.io/drop/K7M4R-XP29Q”, valid until Oct 7.

“Tick what goes along. Click a server, or make a link.”

  5. Labels “# 3 channels” and “@ 2 roles”. The channel and role lists of both servers side by side; lines join #welcome, #rules, #mod-log, Moderator and Member to the same names on Pixel Tavern, each ticked green.

“Channels and roles are found by name.”

  6. A preview, “BrainDrop from Night Owls”, highlights “Nothing changes until you accept.” Each section is labelled “Replaces your settings”, “New here” or “Added to yours”, then “Accept BrainDrop” is pressed.

“Nothing changes before you see what arrives.”

  7. A card “BrainDrop received” lists three sections as “Taken over”. “Undo” is pressed; a backup “Before the BrainDrop of Sep 30” appears with a “Show” button, and seven day tiles light up: “Undo works for 7 days.”

“And undo works for seven days.”

  8. A large “Free.” with “Sending and receiving are free on every plan.” Labels: “13 sections”, “Matched by name”, “Undo for 7 days”. The mascot with the brain floats up.

    “Free to use.”

  9. End card: the ZombyIO logo, a green zombie face in a blue headset, above “ZombyIO” and “Run your Discord server without the busywork.” A white button reads “zomby.io”, with “Free for every server” below.

“ZombyIO. Add it free at zomby.io.”

What happens when a BrainDrop lands

Three steps

  1. Open BrainDrop

On the server that is set up, open BrainDrop from the dashboard sidebar.

  2. Pick what goes along

Tick the sections, then click one of your servers or make a link for somebody else.

  3. Check and accept

The other server shows every change first. Match channels and roles, then accept.

Questions about BrainDrop

Is BrainDrop free?

Yes, sending and receiving are free on every plan. What arrives follows the receiving server's plan: something only Premium can use, such as the welcome card, only arrives on a Premium server, and the preview says so before anything changes.

Does it copy channels and roles too?

It copies the settings and brings the channels and roles they name: found by name on the other server, or created there if you agree. It does not copy messages, members or anything else about the server.

Can somebody change my server with a link?

No. A link only shows what it holds. Receiving it needs an admin of the receiving server, and nothing changes until that admin accepts. Greetings, auto answers, blueprints and announcements from a server you do not manage arrive switched off, and auto moderation and anti-bot in watch mode, so you can read them first.

What if I change my mind?

Every time a server receives a BrainDrop, its previous settings are kept as a backup for 7 days. Undo puts them back, and removes the panels and auto answers the BrainDrop added.

What does not travel?

The server language, the bot's profile, Stream Drops and lists of individual members stay on their own server. Stream Drops belongs to one streamer's Twitch account.

Can I send to several servers at once?

Yes. Tick as many of your servers as you like, up to 25 at once, and one BrainDrop goes to all of them, an Outbreak. Each server still shows what arrives before anything changes, and the sending server ticks off every server as it receives.

Can a new server take the setup of my old one?

Yes, from either side. On the new server, both BrainDrop and Quick Start offer the setup of your other servers, and one click brings the whole setup over for you to check before it lands. A link can also be made for one receipt only, so it stops working once the server it was meant for has received it.
