How to copy your Discord bot settings to another server
BrainDrop sends the settings of one server to another, the way you send a file: to one of your own servers in two clicks, or to anybody with a link. Before anything changes, the receiving server shows exactly what arrives.
Takes about 2 minutes
What you will end up with
The receiving server runs the settings you sent, with its own channels and roles in them. Its previous settings are kept as a backup for 7 days.
Step 1: Open BrainDrop on the server that is already set up
Open the server whose settings you want to copy. BrainDrop is in the sidebar under Server, as a card on the overview, and in the search: press Ctrl K and type BrainDrop. On a phone it is in the Features tab, under Server.
You need to manage both servers: be the owner, or have the Administrator or Manage Server permission.

Step 2: Tick what goes along
Under What goes along every section this server has set up is ticked already, with a short count such as Panels: 3. Untick anything that should stay here.
Welcome messages, auto roles, moderation, server logs, auto moderation, anti-bot, levels, reaction roles, tickets, auto answers, blueprints, YouTube and Twitch can travel. A section still at its standard settings cannot be ticked: there is nothing to send.
The server language, the bot’s profile and Stream Drops stay where they are. Stream Drops belongs to one streamer’s Twitch account and its own viewer page.

Step 3: Tick your servers, or make a link
Under Where to your other servers appear as round icons. Tick one and press Send to that server: BrainDrop sends there and opens that server’s receiving page. If ZombyIO is not on it yet, Discord asks you to add it first and then brings you straight back.
Tick several and one BrainDrop goes to all of them at once, an Outbreak. The sending server then lists every server with a Receive link and ticks each off as it receives, and every receiving page offers the next server once you are done there.
For somebody else’s server, press Make a link. You get a link and a code like ABCDE-FGHJK. Anybody with either can receive the settings on a server they manage, for 7 days. Tick Can be received once only first and the link stops working after the first server has received it. The links from a server are listed under Links from this server, where every admin of it can copy, share or withdraw them.
Tip
A BrainDrop is a copy of the moment you sent it. Settings you change afterwards are not in it; send a new one instead.
Important
Anyone with the link can see what it holds, including your filter words and auto answers. Share it like you would share a file.

Step 4: Check what arrives
The receiving page lists every section with what it does there:
Replaces your settings: the section runs here already and is taken over.
New here: the section is not set up here yet.
Added to yours: panels, tickets, auto answers, blueprints and tracked channels are added to the ones the server has. None of its own are removed.
Below a section, a line says what will not come along and why, for example Role rewards left out: 2. A crown marks what Premium would take as well. The receiving server’s plan decides, not the sender’s.
Reaction role and ticket panels arrive unpublished. Publish them on their page once they look right.
A BrainDrop from a server you do not manage yourself is somebody else’s setup: its greeting, auto answers, blueprints and YouTube and Twitch announcements arrive switched off, and auto moderation and anti-bot in watch mode. Read them on their pages, then switch them on.

Step 5: Match channels and roles
Under Channels and roles every channel and role the settings name is listed, already matched by name: #welcome finds this server’s channel called welcome. For each one you can pick another of this server’s own, Create it or Leave it out.
A channel that only admins could see on the sending server is created the same way here. A created role has no permissions at all. Emoji this server does not have are left out.
Lists of individual members, such as ticket team members or ignored members, never travel to another server.
An auto answer, blueprint or reaction role panel that is limited to a channel or role you leave out arrives switched off, so it does not suddenly apply everywhere or to everybody.
Tip
Left out means the setting is empty here, for example a greeting with no channel. You can pick one on that page later.

Step 6: Accept and check the result
Press Accept BrainDrop. ZombyIO first keeps this server’s current settings of every ticked section as a backup, then creates what you chose to create, and saves each section the way its own page would, with the same checks.
The result lists every section as Taken over, Nothing to change or Not taken over with the reason, each with an Open link to its page.
Important
Creating channels needs the bot’s Manage Channels permission, and creating roles Manage Roles. At most 25 channels and 25 roles are created per BrainDrop.

Step 7: Undo it if you change your mind
Press Undo in the result, or open Backups on the BrainDrop page. A backup first shows what it puts back, then Put these settings back restores the sections as they were, and removes what the BrainDrop added.
Backups are made by themselves every time a server receives a BrainDrop. Each lasts 7 days, and a server keeps its newest 5.
Pictures a BrainDrop replaced do not come back; upload them again on their page. If a section changed after the BrainDrop landed, the backup says so and is not ticked, because going back would undo that change too.

Step 8: Or bring a setup to a new server
The other way round works too, and is the quickest way to set up a new server. Open BrainDrop on the new server, or Quick Start on its first visit: under From one of your servers your other servers with something set up appear as round icons, each with what is set up there. Click one and the whole setup of that server is sent here and this server’s receiving page opens, where you check what arrives exactly as above.
A server with nothing set up yet opens BrainDrop on this part, with sending below it.

Something not working?
The problems people run into most often, and how to fix each one.
One of my servers is not under Where to
The list shows the servers you own or where you have the Administrator or Manage Server permission. It is refreshed from Discord when it is older than five minutes, so a permission you were given a moment ago can take that long to show. Reload the page after that.
I cannot tick a section
That section still has its standard settings on this server, so there is nothing to send. Set it up first, or send it from a server where it is set up.
The link says the BrainDrop is gone
A BrainDrop can be received for 7 days, and whoever made the link can withdraw it earlier. Ask for a new link.
It says the BrainDrop came from this server
A BrainDrop is received on another server than the one that sent it. Open the link or code on the server that should get the settings.
Channels or roles were not created
ZombyIO needs the Manage Channels permission to create channels and Manage Roles to create roles. Give its role those permissions, then receive the BrainDrop again with only the sections that were not taken over. See roles and permissions.
A section says Not taken over
The reason is the same one that section’s own page would give. The most common: a role with moderation rights that only an administrator may hand out, or a channel the bot cannot post in. Fix it on this server and receive again, or leave the section out.
It says I have 20 links open
Each admin can have 20 links open at once. Withdraw one under Links from this server, or wait until one expires after its 7 days.
The link says the BrainDrop was already received
The link was made to be received once, and a server has received it. Ask the sender for a new link, or for one made without Can be received once only.
A picture did not come along
Pictures are copied for this server. One the sender replaced or deleted after sending no longer exists, and the rank card and welcome card pictures need Premium on the receiving server. Upload the picture on the page itself.
Ask in the ZombyIO support server. Bring your support ID, your server’s support ID and a sentence about what you expected to happen, and someone will look at it with you.
