ZombyIO writes down what changes on your server in a channel only your team reads: deleted messages, bans, role and channel changes and more. You pick the channel and what gets logged, and each entry names who did it wherever Discord records that.
Takes about 4 minutesFree, Premium raises limits
What you will end up with
A second or two after something changes, an entry appears in your log channel, up to ten in one message. A deleted message shows who wrote it and what it said and, when a moderator removed it, who that was.

Where to find it
Open the dashboard, pick your server and choose Server logs in the sidebar (on a phone: under Features in the bar at the bottom). That is two clicks from your server list. You can also press Ctrl K anywhere in the dashboard and type the name.
In the dashboard, pick your server and choose Server logs in the sidebar. Flip the switch in the coloured banner at the top, or use Switch server logs on in the list below it. Both are the same switch.
Server logs start switched off on every server, and nothing is stored until you press Save in the bar at the bottom.
Tip
While the switch is off, ZombyIO posts nothing and keeps no copy of your messages, so you can set everything up first and switch it on last.

Step 2: Pick the log channel
Under Pick the log channel, choose where entries are posted. The list shows your text and announcement channels. Use a staff channel: anyone who can read it sees deleted messages, bans and who carried them out.
ZombyIO needs to see the channel, send messages and embed links there. It posts through a webhook it creates in that channel, named “ZombyIO Logs”, which needs the Manage Webhooks permission. Without it, entries still arrive, under the bot’s own name.
Moderation cases and automod reports have channel settings of their own in Moderation and Auto moderation. You can point them at the same channel.
Tip
No staff channel yet? Quick Start can create a private #zomby-logs channel that only admins and the bot can see.

Step 3: Choose what gets logged with a preset
Under Pick a starting point, one click selects a whole set of events:
Moderation only: bans and lifted bans, kicks, timeouts and lifted timeouts, member role changes, deleted and purged messages, and server mutes. 9 event types.
Recommended: the moderation set plus joins, leaves, nickname changes, channels, threads, roles, invites, emojis, webhooks and server settings. 25 event types, and the set every server starts with.
Messages as well: the moderation set plus message edits, pins, unpins, joins and leaves. 14 event types.
Everything: all 35, voice channel traffic included.
A preset only changes which events are logged. Your channel, ignore lists and switches stay as they are.
Tip
Tick or untick a single event by hand and the page shows Your own mix instead of a preset.

Step 4: Add or remove single events
Under What gets logged, the events are sorted into seven groups, from Members to Invites. Each group shows how many of its events are on. Open one to tick single events, or use Select all and Select none for the whole group.
These start switched off because they fill a channel fast: message edits, pins and unpins, member profile updates, thread updates, sticker changes, and every voice event except server mutes.
Important
If you untick every event and save, the page brings back the Recommended set. To stop logging altogether, switch the feature off.

Step 5: Send groups to channels of their own
With Premium, Split the log by group sends a group of events to a channel of its own, so message edits and voice traffic do not bury bans and kicks. Pick a channel beside each group you want to move. Main log channel keeps a group in the channel from the second step.
On the free plan every entry goes to the one log channel, and channels picked in this section are not stored when you save. When Premium ends, every group goes back to the main log channel.

Empty means the channel above.Members#mod-logMessages#message-logVoice channelsMain log channelOn the free plan everything goes to one channel. Premium lets you send each group to a channel of its own, which is what keeps message noise away from moderation entries on a large server.
6
Step 6: Keep bots and busy channels out
Open More settings at the bottom of the page. Skip anything a bot did is on by default. It leaves out entries about bot accounts: bots joining or leaving, bots in voice channels, bans of bots, changes to a bot’s roles or nickname, and invites a bot created. Changes a bot makes to members, channels or roles are still logged, with the bot as the moderator.
Ignored channels keeps out edits, deleted and purged messages, thread changes and new invites in those channels, and changes to the channel’s own settings. A channel being created or deleted is still logged. Threads and forum posts count as the channel they are in.
Ignored roles is narrower. For members with one of these roles, ZombyIO keeps no copy of their messages, and their nickname, role, timeout and profile changes are left out. Their edits, deleted messages, voice activity, joins, leaves and bans are still logged.
Tip
Each list holds 10 entries on the free plan and 50 with Premium. Voice channels cannot be added to Ignored channels.

Step 7: Let the log say who did it
Discord tells a bot what changed, never who changed it. ZombyIO reads that from your server’s audit log, which Discord only shares with bots that have the View Audit Log permission. With it, entries get a Moderator row and the reason given, and edits to channels, roles and server settings list each old and new value.
Without it, Nickname changed, Member roles changed, Member timed out, Timeout lifted, Member profile updated and Server settings changed never appear at all, and a kick is logged as Member left.
Name who did it under More settings decides whether the Moderator and Reason rows are shown. Switched off, entries still name the member they are about.
Tip
Discord records nothing when members delete their own messages, so those entries have no Moderator row. That is how you tell a self-deletion from a moderator’s.
Important
When a moderator uses ZombyIO’s own commands, such as /ban, Discord records ZombyIO as the one who did it. The entry names ZombyIO as the moderator, and the reason starts with “Ban, requested by” and the moderator’s user ID.

Every setting explained
In the order the page shows them. Names in bold are exactly what the dashboard calls each control.
Set it up
Pick the log channel
Where entries are posted, and where every group without a channel of its own goes. Text and announcement channels only. No default: nothing is posted until you pick one. Messages in this channel are never logged themselves.
Switch server logs on
The same switch as in the banner. Off by default. While it is off, nothing is posted and no message is kept.
Pick a starting point
Moderation only
9 event types: Member kicked, Member banned, Ban lifted, Member timed out, Timeout lifted, Member roles changed, Message deleted, Messages purged and Server mute or deafen changed.
Recommended
25 event types, and the selection every server starts with: the moderation set plus joins, leaves, nickname changes, channels and threads created, changed or deleted, roles, invites, emojis, webhooks and server settings. Leaves out message edits, pins, member profile updates, thread updates, sticker changes and voice traffic apart from server mutes.
Messages as well
14 event types: the moderation set plus Message edited, Message pinned, Message unpinned, Member joined and Member left.
Everything
All 35 event types, voice channel traffic included. On an active server this is a busy channel.
What gets logged
Each entry has a coloured bar: green when something was created, blue when it changed, red when it was removed.
Members
Member joined, Member left, Member kicked, Member banned, Ban lifted, Member timed out, Timeout lifted, Nickname changed, Member roles changed and Member profile updated. All on by default except Member profile updated.
Joins, leaves and bans show when the account was created. A timeout shows when it ends, a role change lists the roles added and removed. Kicks, timeouts, nickname, role and profile changes need View Audit Log. Member profile updated reports what a moderator changed on a member apart from nickname and timeout, such as a server mute. Avatar and username changes are not logged.
Messages
Message edited, Message deleted, Messages purged, Message pinned and Message unpinned. Only the two deletion events are on by default.
A deleted or edited message shows its earlier text, up to about 1,000 characters, when it was sent or last edited within the past 30 minutes. For older messages the entry usually says the text is no longer stored. Attachments are shown as a count. A purge shows how many messages went, not what they said. Messages sent by bots are never kept.
Pins name the author of the message, not who pinned it, and are recognised on messages from the past 30 minutes. A pin on an older message usually shows up as Message edited when edits are on.
Channels and threads
Channel created, Channel updated, Channel deleted, Thread created, Thread updated and Thread deleted. All on by default except Thread updated, which also fires whenever a thread archives itself.
An update lists each changed setting with its old and new value, such as the name, topic or slow mode. Changes to a channel’s permissions are not listed one by one.
Roles
Role created, Role updated and Role deleted. All on by default. An update lists each changed setting; a permission change shows Discord’s permission number rather than the names of the permissions. A deleted role gets its name from the audit log, so without View Audit Log it shows as “Unknown”.
Voice channels
Joined a voice channel, Left a voice channel, Switched voice channel, Server mute or deafen changed and Voice state changed. Only Server mute or deafen changed is on by default.
Voice state changed covers members muting or deafening themselves, streaming and switching their camera on or off. ZombyIO only follows voice channels while logging is on, so the first change after you switch it on can show up as a join.
Server
Server settings changed, Emojis changed, Stickers changed and Webhooks changed. All on by default except Stickers changed.
Server settings changed needs View Audit Log and lists each changed setting. Emoji and sticker entries give the new total and, with View Audit Log, the name. Changes to webhooks in your log channels are left out, since ZombyIO keeps its own there.
Invites
Invite created and Invite deleted. Both on by default. A new invite shows its code, its channel, who created it, when it expires and how many uses it allows.
Split the log by group
A channel for each groupPremium onlyFree: 1 · Premium: 8
Beside each of the seven groups, pick a channel or leave Main log channel. The limit counts every destination, the main log channel included. On the free plan, channels picked here are not stored.
More settings
Skip anything a bot did
On by default. Leaves out entries about bot accounts: bots joining or leaving, in voice channels, being banned, their role and nickname changes, and invites they created. What a bot does to members, channels, roles or messages is still logged, with the bot as the moderator.
Name who did it
On by default. Shows the Moderator and Reason rows, read from Discord’s audit log. Off hides only those two rows. Entries still appear and still name the member they are about.
Show member pictures
On by default. Puts the member’s profile picture at the top of joins, bans, lifted bans and member changes, when the member has one. Leave, voice and message entries never carry one.
Ignored channelsFree: 10 · Premium: 50
Edits, deleted and purged messages, thread changes, new invites and changes to the channel’s own settings are left out for these channels and their threads. A channel being created or deleted is still logged. Voice channels are not offered in the list. Past your plan’s limit, a further tick does not stay.
Ignored rolesFree: 10 · Premium: 50
For members with one of these roles, no copy of their messages is kept and their nickname, role, timeout and profile changes are left out. Everything else they do is still logged.
Free and Premium
Premium costs €6 a month per server and is shared by every admin of that server. It raises limits, it does not unlock the feature.

Something not working?
The problems people run into most often, and how to fix each one.
Nothing shows up in the log channel
Check these in order:
The switch is on and you pressed Save.
A channel is picked under Pick the log channel.
The event is ticked under What gets logged, and it did not happen in one of your Ignored channels.
ZombyIO can see the channel, send messages and embed links there. Server Check in your server’s sidebar says so when it cannot. See roles and permissions.
The log does not say who did it
ZombyIO lacks the View Audit Log permission. Server Check lists it.
Name who did it is switched off under More settings.
The member deleted their own message. Discord records no one for that.
The deleted message was sent more than 30 minutes earlier. When ZombyIO no longer knows who wrote a message, it cannot say who removed it either.
Discord reported it more than about two seconds late. The entry then goes out without the name.
Nickname changes, role changes and kicks do not show up
These are only known from Discord’s audit log. Without the View Audit Log permission, Nickname changed, Member roles changed, Member timed out, Timeout lifted, Member profile updated and Server settings changed are never posted, and a kick is logged as Member left. If only Member kicked is ticked and not Member left, a kick then shows nothing at all. Give ZombyIO’s role View Audit Log in Server Settings, Roles.
A deleted message says the text is no longer stored
ZombyIO keeps the text of a message for 30 minutes after it was sent or last edited. You see this line when:
the message was older than that,
it was sent before server logs, or before a message event, was switched on,
a bot wrote it,
it was in one of your Ignored channels or written by a member with one of your Ignored roles,
it had no text and no attachment, such as a sticker on its own.
The log is full of deleted messages with no author
Another bot is deleting its own messages, such as a music bot’s now-playing notes. Messages from bots are never kept, and Skip anything a bot did does not cover deletions, so each one appears with no author and no text. Add that bot’s channel to Ignored channels. ZombyIO’s own messages that it removes after a delay, such as greetings and level-up messages, are left out automatically.
Entries are posted by ZombyIO instead of ZombyIO Logs
ZombyIO could not create its webhook in the log channel. Either it lacks Manage Webhooks, or the channel already has 15 webhooks, which is Discord’s maximum. Entries still arrive either way, but through the bot they share its sending limit and can arrive more slowly when a lot happens at once. It may keep posting under its own name for a while after you fix it. If someone deletes the webhook, ZombyIO creates a new one with the next entries.
The log says further entries were left out
Your server produced more than about 600 entries in one minute, for example during a raid or a mass ban. Past that, entries are counted and the log says how many it skipped, so you know it is not complete. Unticking busy events such as Message edited or the voice events keeps you further from the limit.
Split the log by group does nothing
Sending groups to channels of their own is part of Premium. On the free plan the page lets you pick channels there, but they are not stored when you save, and every entry goes to the main log channel. When Premium ends, entries go back to the main log channel too. The split returns with Premium, unless the page was saved on the free plan in between.
Ask in the ZombyIO support server. Bring your support ID, your server’s support ID and a sentence about what you expected to happen, and someone will look at it with you.
