How to find your way around the ZombyIO dashboard

Every server has an overview, a sidebar with every feature and a save bar at the bottom of each settings page. This guide shows where things are and what the dashboard tells you on its own.

Takes about 4 minutes

Step by step

  1. Step 1: Pick a server from your list

Open the dashboard and you see Your servers: every server you own, or where you have the Administrator or Manage Server permission. Servers with the bot come first, the biggest at the top. A search box filters the list by name.

    • Edit opens a server the bot is on.
    • Set up means the bot is not there yet. It opens Discord’s invite with that server already chosen.
    • A Premium badge marks a server with Premium.

    Tip

If the bot was removed from a server, its settings stay readable with a note that ZombyIO is not on the server yet. They are kept for 90 days and apply again when you add the bot back.

  2. Step 2: Read the overview

Choosing a server opens its overview. The heading counts how many features are switched on. Below it come the Weekly report, links to Quick Start and BrainDrop, and every feature sorted into four groups, each marked Enabled or Disabled.

Enabled means the feature is switched on and has what it needs to do something. A switch alone is not enough: tickets need a published panel, reaction roles need a panel, server logs need a log channel, auto roles need a role, and YouTube or Twitch need a channel to follow. A new server starts with only Moderation enabled.

The sidebar lists the same features. Overview, Settings, Bot profile, BrainDrop and Server Check sit under Server, Billing under Account. A dot after a feature means it is enabled. On a phone the Features tab at the bottom lists them.

  3. Step 4: Save with the bar at the bottom

Nothing you change is stored until you press Save in the bar at the bottom of the page. That includes the on and off switch in each feature’s coloured banner, and the Switch it on button of the This feature is off notice.

The bar always says where the page stands: Everything is saved, Unsaved changes with a dot as soon as something differs, then Saved after a save. Saved, but the bot may take a while to pick it up. means the change is stored and reaches the bot shortly. If a save is refused, the bar says why.

    Important

The dashboard does not warn you when you leave a page with unsaved changes. They are lost, so press Save before you open another page.

  4. Step 5: Fix what Server Check finds

Server Check has its own page in the sidebar, under Server. It looks at every feature that is switched on and asks Discord whether the bot can actually do its job: its permissions, its role position, and the channels and roles you picked. Each problem comes with How to fix it in Discord’s own words.

Features that are off are never checked. Problems marked Tip do not stop a feature; it works with less. The answer can be up to a minute old; press Check again after you change something in Discord.

Roles and permissions explains every kind of problem it reports.

  5. Step 6: Read the weekly report

The Weekly report shows the last 7 days: how many messages were written, with a bar for each day and today last, and small facts such as New members, Spam stopped, Level-ups and Tickets opened. Facts for features you do not use are left out.

Once the bot has counted for two full weeks, it compares with the 7 days before. Days run from midnight to midnight UTC. Messages from bots are not counted, and new numbers appear within about five minutes.

Only totals are kept, never who wrote what.

  6. Step 7: Choose the bot language and your own settings

Settings in the sidebar holds one choice: Bot language, the language ZombyIO writes in on this server. Pick English, Deutsch, Français, Español or Italiano and press Save. A new server starts in English unless Quick Start picked another language. There is no server-wide time zone; scheduled blueprints have their own.

Replies to slash commands always use the Discord language of the member who ran the command, if it is one of those five, and English otherwise.

Your own settings are in the menu behind your picture at the top right, under Settings: the dashboard’s theme and language, the browsers you are signed in on with Sign out for each, Download my data, and Delete account. A sign-in lasts 30 days.

Something not working?

The problems people run into most often, and how to fix each one.

I changed a setting but nothing happens on my server

Check that you pressed Save and the bar says Saved, and that the feature’s switch in the banner is on. After Saved, but the bot may take a while to pick it up. the change arrives a little later on its own.

Saving says somebody else saved this page in the meantime

Another admin, or you in another tab, saved the same settings after you opened the page. Reload to see their changes, then make yours again and save. Saves of other pages do not cause this.

Saving says there are too many changes at once

Each admin can save about 60 times in quick succession, then once every two seconds. Wait a moment and press Save again.

A feature says Disabled although I switched it on

Enabled on the overview also needs the part the feature cannot work without: a published ticket panel, a reaction role panel, a log channel, at least one auto role, a YouTube or Twitch channel, a trigger or blueprint that is switched on, or a greeting channel or greeting by direct message. Add it on the feature’s page and save.

Server Check still shows a problem I already fixed

Its answer can be up to a minute old. Press Check again on the Server Check page. If the problem stays, the fix did not reach the role or channel it names; follow How to fix it once more.

The weekly report is empty or shows no comparison

Counting starts on the day the bot joins your server, so the first report fills up over the following days. The comparison with the week before appears after two full weeks. Messages from bots do not count.

The dashboard switched to another language after I signed in

Signing in uses the language saved with your account. If you have never saved one, the dashboard starts in the language of your Discord app. To save yours, pick it under Settings in your account menu and press Save, or pick it in the language menu at the top or bottom of the page while you are signed in. This does not change the language the bot uses on your server.

A server I manage is missing from my list

You need to own the server or have Administrator or Manage Server there. The list is refreshed from Discord when it is older than five minutes, so wait a moment and reload. See roles and permissions.

Still stuck?

Ask in the ZombyIO support server. Bring your support ID, your server’s support ID and a sentence about what you expected to happen, and someone will look at it with you.
